“There were strong references to the 1950s in the S/S 12 shows, both in the fashion and the faces. While the look below gives a nod to the decade, it’s more of a modern interpretation than a literal one. This ’50s makeup look is fashion forward, feminine and gorgeously glam. The dewy complexion is one of its main features. I drew inspiration from shows like Nina Ricci, Rochas, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Chloe, Jil Sander, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Versus, where dreamy, lunar-skinned ladies sashayed down the runway. Bouffant-style hairdos are also big this season (as seen on the catwalk at Fendi and Jil Sander).
